Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort

Earlier in the month my wife, Cheryl, and I attended the Reunion 2011 event put on by the WDW Today podcast and MEI-Mouse Fan Travel.  While we had booked an event rate stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort for 4 nights earlier in the year, once all was said and done and fans started tacking on extra meets we decided that we really wanted to be staying an extra night at the front of the trip.  However, we decided this about 5 days before, so we relegated ourselves to finding a deal online.  For this my wife went to what has become a last minute trip fallback for us, BookIt.com.

DVC Merry Member Mixer

Last week’s announcement of the Disney Vacation Club’s new Grand Floridian Villas validates that DVC is really Disney’s worst kept secret. The news did not come as a shock to anyone who follows Disney in the news as the details of this new offering were broken back in March when the project plans were uncovered. A few days later MousePlanet.com had all the details in its weekly report. In addition, the departure of DVC President Jim Lewis just prior to the opening of the Aulani resort made headlines a few months ago. Like I said, this stuff is no secret despite what billboards tell you.

Savory And Sweet At The Wave

Dining at Walt Disney World is always a treat for my wife, Cheryl, and I to the point where, as locals, the vast majority of our out of the home dining occurs there. We’re Kosher at home, and out Cheryl remains Vegan in addition to having a gluten allergy, and I do my best to remain Kosher style which often means I eat Vegetarian when I eat out. It helps our budget tremendously that we’re long time members of Tables in Wonderland – in a time when Disney is constantly trying to shave a dollar in their favor, this program is a fantastic value if you for frequent park diners.

Sweet Treats Down By The Boardwalk

Becoming a Disney Vacation Club member was one of the smartest moves my wife, Cheryl, ever made for me.  The truth is though that it took me two times through the presentation to buy in.  While I’m every bit a fan of Disney’s Old Key West Resort, at the time it didn’t wow me because I wanted to feel closer to the parks not secluded.  Then the following year, DVC started offering Disney’s Boardwalk Villas and I was hooked.  Well… okay Cheryl was already making a down payment while I was busy deciding that I was hooked.
